JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death - The Movie

The high school years of Gojo Satoru and Geto Suguru. The two young sorcerers are assigned to protect Riko Amanai, the girl known as the Star Plasma Vessel. By the time the assignment ends, so does their friendship. The film is not interested in action. It is interested in the point of divergence: two characters who will later be enemies drawing opposite conclusions from the same event. One goes on believing power protects people; the other decides the system is not worth protecting. It helps to know what this is. It is not a new film but a theatrical cut, roughly 110 minutes, of the first five episodes of the series' second season, which first aired in July 2023. It opened in Japan on 30 May 2025 and placed fourth on its opening weekend with 138,000 tickets and about ¥198.3 million. In the United States, GKIDS took $2.55 million from a two-day run on 16 and 17 July, and the worldwide total passed $7 million. Shota Goshozono directed. Yuichi Nakamura voices Gojo and Takahiro Sakurai voices Geto. Who it is for: viewers who follow the series and want this arc on a big screen. Who it is not for: anyone expecting a new story. If you have seen the season, there is no shot here you have not seen.
