Sasaki and Miyano: Graduation

Sasaki is preparing for university entrance exams, and once he graduates the school will no longer be shared ground. Miyano knows this and tries to make the remaining time count, while struggling to name what he feels. The film covers this last stretch without manufacturing events, through the details of ordinary days. Directed by Shinji Ishihira, the film continues and closes the anime series of the same name. It belongs to the boys love genre, but the register is not provocative; it is built on shyness, hesitation and timing. What sits at the center is not the forming of the relationship but the naming of it. Who it's for: Viewers who know the series, and anyone who likes slow-paced romantic anime and the boys love genre. Who it's not for: Newcomers will be missing the characters' history, and there is almost no plot; everything happens internally.
