The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie

The end of the story of Fuutaro, a private tutor, and the five quintuplet sisters. The series said what was coming from the start: Fuutaro will marry one of them. The film closes that question. It is not interested in romantic suspense. It is interested in the duty of finishing: the audience has waited years for a choice, and the job is to make it without humiliating the four sisters who are not chosen. The weight of the film sits in the farewells rather than the outcome. The form gathers around a final graduation trip, giving each sister her own closing scene and working through them in turn. After the series' second season the story moved to cinemas to be finished, so this is not a compilation but a new chapter that tells the finale directly. Masato Jimbo directed. Yoshitsugu Matsuoka voices Fuutaro, with Kana Hanazawa and Ayana Taketatsu among the sisters. Who it is for: viewers who watched the series and fans of romantic comedy anime. Who it is not for: anyone starting here. The film assumes you know all five sisters and reintroduces none of them, and by its nature the choice will leave part of the audience unhappy.
