Snu

Snu Abecassis was Danish. She had settled in Portugal. There she founded a publishing house. It was called Publicações Dom Quixote. It became one of the most important in the country. The books she published had to get past the censors. She stood for subjects like contraception and family planning. The Estado Novo regime fell in 1974. Snu wanted a more open country after it. In 1976 she met a politician named Francisco Sá Carneiro. He later became prime minister, and both of them were married to other people at the time. The two died in 1980 when their aeroplane came down, and the film is about that relationship and those years. Inês Castel-Branco and Pedro Almendra appear in the ninety four minute film, a Portuguese production Patrícia Sequeira finished in 2019.
