What So Close, So Far Is About
Dr Alam is a neurologist. He is a successful surgeon as well. He has given himself over to his profession and his public work. That intensity has come at a cost. The distance between him and his son has widened. The two of them hardly see each other now. On the night of his son’s birthday news comes. The news concerns the boy’s health. What he learns shakes him. He then sets out to track his son down. The journey takes him out of the city. The account is built on that search. Masoud Rayegan and Elham Hamidi take the leads, with Afshin Hashemi and Ashkan Khatibi also in the cast, in Reza Mirkarimi’s Iranian film of 2005.
