Castle of Dreams

A woman is lying gravely ill in hospital and is not getting better. The father, gone for years, comes back at exactly that moment. He is left with no choice but to take his son and daughter with him. Where he will take them is not clear. Their mother had drawn a castle of dreams for the children; he never managed to build it. Over the journey the father and the children begin to know each other. He is anxious and unsure, and tries to keep that from them. The film holds the three of them together for the length of a journey. Hamed Behdad and Zhila Shahi take the leads in Reza Mirkarimi’s Iranian film of 2019.
