Therese lives in a village in Lebanon. Her husband is the mayor there. The house is being made ready for something big. Her daughter’s suitor is coming with his parents. Therese can hardly sit still for joy. The first ones she tells are the photographs of her brother. He was killed twenty years ago by a bomb. The bomb had come from the Syrian side. He is still present in every corner of the house. Then the guests arrive at the door. That is the moment Therese finds out. The family coming is Syrian. All the joy turns over at once. The film tells this in a comic register without treating the matter lightly. Julia Kassar and Ali El Khalil appear in the ninety two minute film, an Egyptian, Jordanian and Lebanese co-production Sophie Boutros finished in 2017.
