What Song'e Napule Is About
Naples. A conservatory-trained pianist is out of work; his father's connections get him into the police, where he sits at a desk. Then he is given the one field job that fits him: pose as a cheap wedding singer, play at the wedding of an untouchable camorra boss's daughter, and gather information from inside. The Manetti brothers braid the crime film together with Naples' neomelodico pop; the songs are really sung, and comedy and tension arrive one after the other. Some jokes will pass anyone who does not know the local language and music.
