What Sori: Voice from the Heart Is About
Hae-kwan lost his daughter ten years ago and has never stopped looking for her; she is presumed to have died in the Daegu metro fire of 2003, but her father does not believe it. When he comes across an American spy satellite robot that has fallen into the sea and that records sounds from all over the world, he has a lead for the first time and goes after his daughter’s voice. An unexpected bond forms between the two of them along the way. Lee Ho-jae’s hundred and seventeen minute Korean film joins science fiction to a road movie and sets the matter of recorded voices beside a real argument about surveillance. Lee Sung-min plays Hae-kwan, with Shim Eun-kyung, Lee Hanee and Chae Soo-bin in the cast.
