Soundless

Mennan Yapo's first feature. Viktor is a meticulous hitman who leaves no trace, probably on his last job and with no plan at all for afterwards. He does not kill the woman sleeping beside his final target; he follows her instead and saves her life. Nina is drawn to him but mostly wants to know who he is, and that search crosses the investigation of a policeman who tries to think his way into the minds of both victims and killer. Viktor's employer, meanwhile, now wants him gone. The film was an unexpected box office success in Germany, and Yapo, born in Munich to Turkish parents, took festival awards abroad with it.
