Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Destin Daniel Cretton began shooting on 3 August 2025 in Glasgow under the working title Blue Oasis. Merchant City, George Square and Trongate stood in for New York for about 2 weeks, including the opening tank sequence; stage work followed at Pinewood. At Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, shooting May’s grave, Cretton asked for an extra take once the opening montage had what it needed. Tom Holland improvised a line about no longer doing everything alone; Cretton moved it to the film’s end and treated it as the production’s compass. 2 aspect ratios were used, 2.39:1 for wide screens and 1.90:1 for digital IMAX. Several shots restage particular comic covers, some filmed at 420 frames per second, and the mid-air clash with the Hand ninjas took at least 65 takes. Even the Marvel logo was rebuilt, with Peter erased from footage of the earlier films. The film has taken $2.454 billion worldwide, the largest lifetime gross ever in the United States and Canada and third on the worldwide list. A good fit if you want to trace which cover each shot comes from and do not mind the frame changing shape for the IMAX stretches. Not for anyone who reads the slow build of headaches and sore wrists as stalling; the April 2026 reshoots exist to sharpen those signs.
