Elias Reichert What Stars Above Us Is About
Forced into homelessness, Melli, a single mother, takes her son Ben into the forest. Well back from the paths, where nobody will find them, they build a makeshift camp. Both of them believe it is temporary; Melli is convinced things will improve soon, and the conviction hardens when she is taken on as a trainee flight attendant. For Ben the whole thing is an exciting camping trip. Christina Ebelt films the machinery that keeps poverty invisible: people still working, still hoping, and still without a roof.
