Ana, a seamstress in Belgrade, did not believe it eighteen years ago when the hospital where she gave birth told her that her baby had died, and she has thought ever since that her child was taken. No one takes her seriously; the police will not open a file, the hospital records are incomplete, and her husband and daughter no longer want to hear about it. Even so she goes on alone collecting documents, knocking on doors and asking questions. Miroslav Terzić’s hundred and five minute Serbian film was built on a real matter: in Serbia there are more than four hundred cases brought over the claim that newborn babies were taken from their families. Snežana Bogdanović plays Ana; it was completed in 2019 and won the Europa Cinemas award in Berlin.
