Stop Me Here

Samson Cazalet is a taxi driver in his thirties. He picks a woman up at the airport and drops her at home. That same evening her small daughter disappears. The next day the police are at his door, and everything about him works against him: who he is, the route he drove, everything he did that day. He says he is innocent and has nothing at all to show for it. Being the perfect suspect turns out to be stronger than being innocent. Gilles Bannier directs, with Reda Kateb as Samson. The film shows how the machinery of justice closes around a person, calmly and without sensation. The tension comes not from film noir but from the working of ordinary bureaucracy.
