What Strange Confession Is About
Jeff Carter is an idealistic chemist working on a cure for influenza. His boss, Roger Graham, puts his own name on everything Carter discovers, and when the drug is pushed out before it is ready the bill lands on Carter's family. This is the fifth of Universal's Inner Sanctum pictures, sixty two minutes long, with Lon Chaney Jr. in the lead and J. Carrol Naish as the boss. The film has an odd history of its own: because it was an unauthorised remake of the studio's own 1934 The Man Who Reclaimed His Head, the rights stayed in dispute and it alone was held back from the television package. It disappeared for years and only resurfaced on video in the nineties.
