Streif: One Hell of a Ride

The documentary is about the ski race at Kitzbühel. When the racers leave for the next World Cup stop, the work in the town does not end. The members of the Kitzbüheler Ski Club start preparing for next year. The film follows that preparation across a whole year. Both the spectacular jobs and the small details are visible. The account also follows five athletes. They are Aksel Lund Svindal, Max Franz, Hannes Reichelt, Erik Guay and Yuri Danilochkin. The camera finds them in their own countries. Their summer training and their free time are part of it. As the race comes closer, the two strands wind together. Stories from the past of the course come in between. The athletes arrive back in Kitzbühel at last. The Hahnenkamm race of 2014 is where the film is heading. The production shows the sport and the labour that keeps it standing. Aksel Lund Svindal and Erik Guay take part in the hundred and ten minute documentary. It is an Austrian production Gerald Salmina and Tom Dauer finished in 2014.
