What Suppressed Is About
Martin was a veterinarian at the height of his powers; then an incident at work changed his life entirely. After it he became unable to communicate with the world and spent the rest of his days in complete isolation. The narrators of the film are the three women in his life: his wife, his mother, and Jana, the colleague whose horse he was treating that day. Each remembers the same event from a different place, and as they tell it what emerges is not one truth but three readings. The account takes silence itself as its subject. Jana Plodkova appears in Tomas Masin’s hundred and seven minute Czech film, completed in 2023.
