What Sympathy Seeker Is About
A Christmas story told almost as a fairy tale. An ordinary Russian girl raised without a father had never imagined that one day she would find him. And then something nobody planned for happens: three men turn up at once, each wanting the part. While she is trying to work out which of them is telling the truth, all three set about proving themselves right in their own way. Directed by Vladimir Mashkov, it is a warm comedy assembling faces well loved on Russian television. It ends up caring less about who the father is than about who wants to be one.
