Tell Spring Not to Come This Year

The documentary is set in Afghanistan. The NATO troops have pulled out of the country. Control of Helmand province has passed to the national army. The region is extremely dangerous. Taliban attacks have become an everyday matter. The directors go and stay with one company. The company spends a year on the front line. The camera stays with them through that year. What is seen is not limited to the fighting. The soldiers are not paid regularly. Supplies fall short. The equipment in their hands is old. What they have is equipment left behind by ISAF. Security aside, trust is not easily built either. Saeed Taji Farouky and Michael McEvoy directed the eighty seven minute documentary. The Afghan and British coproduction was finished in 2015.
