What Ten Years Is About
Five short films imagine Hong Kong in 2025: a city where language, memory and daily habit are being rearranged from above. One segment goes straight at political suppression, another sits with a childhood in which speaking Cantonese has quietly become a problem. Made in 2015, the stories counted as speculative fiction at the time and did not stay that way for their audience. Five directors made it together: Jevons Au, Kiwi Chow, Zune Kwok, Ng Ka-leung and Wong Fei-pang. Shot for very little money, it took more than six million Hong Kong dollars at the local box office and won best film at the Hong Kong Film Awards.
