Ip Man 2

Wilson Yip's 2010 film follows the master after he moves to Hong Kong. To open a school he needs the approval of the local masters. A bout with a British boxer is then arranged. The film continues the first one's structure; the narrative uses the humiliation of the colonial period as ground and saves the final match for the end. Donnie Yen leads with Sammo Hung as his opponent. The fights are known for the sequence on a tabletop. Most of the events are invented. Who it's for: those who like martial arts films. Who it's not for: viewers seeking historical accuracy; the account is largely invention.
