Thamasha

Sreenivasan is a thirty one year old college teacher who has lost his hair. He finds it hard to meet anyone who will like him or marry him, and he looks for the reason in his appearance. The film does not mock him; it shows the people who do the mocking and how a gaze from outside is taken inward. Coming out of Malayalam cinema, the story treats humiliation over looks in a comic tone without making the subject light. Sreenivasan coming to accept himself is where the account is headed. Friendships carry the story and they are what keep him standing. Vinay Forrt takes the lead in Ashraf Hamsa’s hundred and twenty minute Indian film, with Chinnu Chandini Nair, Divya Prabha and Grace Antony also in the cast; it was completed in 2019.
