What That'll Be The Day Is About
Britain, 1958. Restless at school and bored with his life, Jim leaves home and moves from one low job to another at a seaside amusement park, into a world of cheap encounters and petty crime. When that world closes on him hard he goes back home, only now the local music scene is exploding and he has two roads in front of him: adult responsibility, or this new thing called rock and roll. David Essex leads Claude Whatham’s film with Ringo Starr beside him, and musicians who lived through the era, Billy Fury and Keith Moon among them, fill out the cast. Stardust followed.
