What The Attack Is About

Amin, a Palestinian surgeon living in Tel Aviv, is respected in his profession, well settled among his colleagues and content with his life. A bomb goes off in a restaurant and the police tell him that the person who carried it was his wife. He refuses to believe it and starts investigating himself, and the more he learns the harder it becomes to continue. Ziad Doueiri adapted Yasmina Khadra's novel and never fully explains why she did it; the film stays inside the husband's incomprehension. Because it was shot in Israel, it was banned in Lebanon and much of the Arab world.
