What The Big Bad Fox and Other Tales Is About
Farm animals stage three short tales: a fox who cannot frighten the hens, animals trying to deliver a baby, and a pair trying to save Christmas. The film uses the conceit of a theatre stage; the animals come out from behind a curtain and play the stories. The drawing is simple and watercolour-like, and the humour is paced so an adult laughs too. Benjamin Renner and Patrick Imbert directed, adapting Renner's own comic. It is a French production. Who it's for: those who like hand-drawn family animation and quiet humour. Who it's not for: viewers wanting action; this is entirely character comedy.
