The Bomber

During the Second World War a Soviet aircraft comes down over occupied territory. The pilot Grivtsov, the radio operator Katya and the navigator Linko, who bailed out, all survive; each of them has to find a way to carry out their tasks, get back to their own lines and simply stay alive. An act of sabotage carried out at the airfield before take off complicates everything. Grivtsov, defending his friends, falls foul of the colonel of military counterintelligence and, instead of a medal for his hundredth flight, is declared a traitor and sent to be executed. The long production tells the war not at the front but in the suspicion behind the front. Nikita Efremov and Ekaterina Astakhova appear in the hundred and ninety minute Russian film; Vitaly Vorobyev’s production was completed in 2011.
