The Colors of Iris

The film opens on the shooting of a commercial. The shoot is on a beach in the early morning. A stranger walks into the frame. The man is carrying an umbrella. He walks into the sea and vanishes. The crew watches it happen in bewilderment. The police are informed. But the investigation never really starts. Bureaucracy covers the event over. The authorities and the manager of the advertising company stand close together. The press turns the event to its own use as well. Nobody really asks what happened. Only one person will not let it go. That person is the musician working on the shoot. Nikitas Tsakiroglou and Vangelis Kazan take the leads in Nikos Panayotopoulos’s Greek film of 1974.
