What The Day Everything Changed Is About
Mario was a man who had planned a happy future with his wife, and when a robbery one night takes her life he is left with a single aim, to settle accounts with the people who took his happiness. Seven years later he finds the two men he has been looking for, and at exactly that point he begins to question his own revenge; the film asks whether forgiveness is possible from inside violence and poverty. Javier Colinas directed the ninety seven minute Mexican production from a screenplay by Luis Arrieta, who also plays the lead and produced it, and who wrote it after being the victim of a violent incident himself. It opened in more than five hundred cinemas in Mexico on 22 February 2024.
