What The Day I Saw Your Heart Is About
Turkish publicity presents this as the story of a girl who cannot find a man; that is not where the film sits. Justine is in her twenties, works in a radiology lab, and uses the machines there to X-ray her boyfriends and make pictures out of them. The real matter is her father: sixty, difficult, and expecting a child with his young second wife. Justine and her half-sister Dom cannot swallow the news, because the man was never around during their own childhoods. Jennifer Devoldère directed; Mélanie Laurent plays the daughter and Michel Blanc the father.
