The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Her

Eleanor jumps from a bridge, survives, and goes back to her parents' house without telling her husband. She enrols at the university, cuts her hair and talks to nobody about her relationships. After the death of their child she is looking for a way to continue, and the way she finds is to cut the past off entirely. Ned Benson designed the project as three films: two separate pictures, Him and Her, telling the same relationship, and a third version combining them. This one proceeds entirely from the woman's view, and the same scenes look different in the other film. Jessica Chastain leads, with Isabelle Huppert, William Hurt and Viola Davis in the cast. The scenes with Viola Davis as a professor are the best part of it. Who it is for: viewers who like relationship drama and formal experiment. Who it is not for: anyone expecting one complete film, since this version is deliberately partial.
