What The Dominici Affair Is About
In August 1952 a family of British tourists was found murdered by the roadside in Provence. The investigation went forward with all of France watching, and Gaston Dominici, a farmer of seventy five, was arrested after being denounced by his own sons. He confessed under questioning, then withdrew the confession, and it began to emerge that there was no evidence against him. The case remains one of the most disputed in French justice and the real killer was never found. Jean Gabin plays the old man in one of his last roles.
