What The Dream Catcher Is About
A teenager left behind by his family jumps a freight train in Philadelphia and decides to go to his uncle in Indiana, hoping to find money for his pregnant girlfriend. In Ohio he meets another homeless boy and the two go on together, but the uncle has nothing either. This time they head for Oklahoma City to find the boy’s father, out of prison and long unseen, and the meeting of father and son throws the two of them further west still. Ed Radtke’s ninety nine minute American film treats the road story not as a promise of rescue but as going on with whatever is at hand. Maurice Compte and Paddy Connor appear; it was completed in 1999.
