What The Elusive Revengers Is About
During the Russian Civil War, Danka and Ksanka watch a White Guard officer kill their father in front of them. The two of them set out for revenge, joined by Valerka, an educated boy from the city, and Yashka, a young Roma. Before they can get near the man they are after, the four of them have to help their village and the advancing Red Army. Edmond Keosayan made it as an adventure for children and it was enormously popular across the Soviet Union; two sequels followed and generations grew up on it. The propaganda in it is plain enough now, and the adventure still works.
