The Four Seasons of the Law

The film is set in a small village on the island of Chios. The time is somewhere around 1960. The village field watchman dies. Someone new has to be appointed in his place. The agronomist is the one who makes that appointment. Four different people then take the job on. All four fail, one after another. The account moves through those four attempts. The village and its fields make up the whole world of the film. The film runs adventure, comedy and drama together. Angeliki Malanti and Angelos Pantelaras take the leads, with Takis Agoris, Yannis Tsoubariotis, Stelios Makrias and Panagiotis Louros also in the cast, in Dimos Avdeliodis’s Greek film of 2000.
