The Girl and the Playboy

A rich man loses his memory after a blow to the head. He does not remember who he is, what he does or how he treated people. He has to discover his own past again, and what he learns does not please him. What follows is his deciding what kind of man he wants to be from now on. The film uses the loss of memory not as material for mystery but as a second chance. What would happen if a person could see themselves from outside is the question at the centre. The comedy comes from the distance between the man he was and the man he is now. Dirch Passer and Birgitte Price appear in Ebbe Langberg’s hundred and one minute Danish film, completed in 1965.
