What The Good Life Is About
Sylvain and Pierre have been on the run with their father Yves since a custody fight with their mother drove him into hiding ten years ago. They are older now and tired of the road. When the authorities work out where they are the family has to move again, and Pierre, the elder brother, disappears. Alone with his father on an island in the Loire, Sylvain meets Gilda: his first girl, his first love, and the first stop on the way to a life of his own. Jean Denizot builds this as a coming of age story rather than a thriller, and the river sets the pace.
