An adaptation that puts the Gospel of John on screen without dropping a single word of it. The narration is read in English while the actors speak Aramaic, and the road from the baptism to the first miracle, from the raising of Lazarus to the last supper, the cross and the resurrection unfolds with no interpretation laid over it. Because the text itself is the narrator, the result feels less like a story rebuilt than a book being filmed as it is read aloud. Part of the Lumo Project; David Batty directed, David Harewood and Brian Cox narrate.
