What The Heavy Hand of the Law Is About
Gloria works as a lawyer. Everyone she has defended in her career turned out to be guilty. Her new client looks like more of the same. The man lives in a small town. He has been accused of rape. Nobody in the town believes his account. The local order is in the hands of the police chief. The chief holds a debt on the man’s house. The case moves forward inside those relations. Gloria comes back to a vocation long gone cold. Facing her stands the prosecutor Rivas. Rivas had been her teacher at the law faculty. Now the two of them are on opposite sides. Paola Barrientos and María Onetto take the leads, with Darío Grandinetti also in the cast, in Fernán Mirás’s Argentine film of 2017.
