What The Hedgehog Is About
Wang Zhantuan is a man the people around him find strange. Sometimes he behaves in ways nobody follows, and sometimes he speaks more to the point than anyone else. Zhou Zheng is a quiet young man closed in on himself because of his stutter. The two of them find each other and become a constant matter for the family. The film treats mental health not as a diagnosis but as a label handed out by the people around you. Who decides what counts as normal is the real question. The account runs this together with comedy and never mocks. The story is adapted from a piece of short fiction by Zheng Zhi. Ge You and Karry Wang appear in Gu Changwei’s Chinese film, completed in 2024.
