At a state school in Yorkshire, a class of clever and very talkative boys prepare for the Oxford and Cambridge entrance exams. Three adults stand over them: Hector, who refuses to treat literature as something examinable, Irwin, young and shrewd and hired to raise the scores, and a headmaster interested only in results. Adapted from Alan Bennett’s play and directed by Nicholas Hytner, with most of the stage cast repeating their parts. It leaves the question of what education is for wide open, and funny. Richard Griffiths, Dominic Cooper and James Corden are in it.
