The Little Girl of Hanoi

The film is set in Hanoi during the war. At its centre is a little girl. The girl loses her family during the Christmas bombings. Her mother and her sister are killed in the raids. Only her father is left. The father serves as a soldier in the army. The girl sets out to find him. She walks through the city alone. She asks after her father from the people she meets. The account is built on that search. The state of the city is part of the account too. The film tells the war through the eyes of a child. Lan Hương and Trà Giang take the leads, with Thế Anh and Kim Xuân also in the cast, in Hải Ninh’s Vietnamese film of 1974.
