What The Load Is About
The end of the sixteenth century, in the forests of the New World. A tameme, an indigenous man condemned to carry loads on his back, and a noble Spanish woman start running down the same path. At first every inch of the distance between master and porter is there between them; the forest, the hunger and the men behind them wear it away, and the closeness they build puts them both in danger. Alan Jonsson’s Mexican Spanish co-production tells what the order after the conquest did to indigenous people from inside a chase. With Maria Valverde and Horacio Garcia Rojas.
