The Mother in Law

The film is about the strain inside one family. At the centre are a mother-in-law and her sons’ wives. The son of the house, Ayaz, is a young composer. His mother is called Jannat. She sets the rules of the house herself. Two daughters-in-law live under the same roof. No understanding forms between them. The gossip never stops. Small matters turn into quarrels. The tension in the family grows. Ayaz’s friend Ilgar steps in. He tries to calm them down, and the whole thing is built as a musical comedy taken from a stage play. Nasiba Zeynalova appears in the seventy five minute film, an Azerbaijani production Huseyn Seyidzadeh finished in 1978.
