The Murderer Hides His Face

A body is found in the forest near a village. The dead woman is a nurse at the local health centre. The village is called Drahovice. Three months earlier another woman had died in the same area. In that case the motive had been established. In the new case there is no motive in sight. Two men come from Prague for the investigation. One is Major Kalas, the other Lieutenant Varga. The two of them take statements in the village one by one. Everyone has something to tell. But what they say does not add up. The leads are gathered slowly. Rudolf Hrušínský and Radoslav Brzobohatý take the leads, with Jiří Pleskot also in the cast, in Petr Schulhoff’s Czechoslovak film of 1966.
