Dagmar Havlová Veškrnová What We'll Kick Up a Fuss Tomorrow, Darling... Is About
A man named Novak tells his neighbour Mrs Bartackova the lie that her husband is being unfaithful to her. Everything starts with that one sentence. As the lie circulates among the neighbours it grows, everyone draws a different conclusion, and nobody remembers where the first word came from. The film uses the moulds of Czechoslovak comedy of the seventies and makes its material out of life in a block of flats, what is heard through a door and the fact that nobody ever asks. The account does not let the man who started the lie off either; once a word has left the mouth it is under nobody’s control. Milos Kopecky plays the lead in Petr Schulhoff’s ninety five minute Czechoslovak film, completed in 1976.
