The Nest of Wasps

The story takes place in Bucharest in 1936. The city is lively and showy at that time. The Duduleanu family are prosperous merchants. Three sisters stand at the head of it. They take every decision in the house. Nobody is able to cross them. A young journalist comes into that house. His name is Mircea Aldea. He marries the daughter of the family. In that way he joins the crowd of them. But the marriage does not last long. The calculations inside the house come out quickly. The film tells it as comedy. The manners of the period are shown in detail. Tamara Buciuceanu-Botez and Gheorghe Dinică appear in the hundred and fifteen minute film, a Romanian production Horea Popescu finished in 1987.
