What The New Life of Paul Sneijder Is About
Paul Sneijder is a French senior executive living in Montreal. He survives a horrific lift accident in which his daughter is killed. Once he has recovered he looks at his life and finds he wants none of it: the job does not interest him, his wife is deceiving him, his two sons are embarrassed by him. His decision is simple and unacceptable to everyone around him. He is going to walk dogs. Thomas Vincent adapts Jean-Paul Dubois's novel Le cas Sneijder, with Thierry Lhermitte as Paul. It is a quiet, stubborn film that ties grief and freedom to the same decision.
