The Paradise Suite

In Amsterdam the lives of six people touch each other. A young woman from Bulgaria, who came believing she had a modelling offer, is forced into prostitution. A Serbian man carries a past left over from the war years. An African migrant, a Swedish boy and his father are inside their own troubles in the same city. The paths cross. Joost van Ginkel wrote and directed the film, which was the Netherlands' submission for the 2016 Oscars but was not nominated. The telling does not reduce migration to a single story; it follows the six separately and leaves them where they intersect. Anjela Nedyalkova plays the young woman. The scenes of forced prostitution are not made into a spectacle; they are built around what she goes through. Jasna Đuričić and Boris Isaković are also in the cast.
