What The Phone Is About
Dong-ho is a successful lawyer. One day his wife is murdered at home and his life stops. A year later, during a network failure caused by a solar storm, his phone rings. It is his wife; the line has opened onto a year earlier, onto the day of the murder. Dong-ho has one day to work with: he has to convince her and change what happens. Kim Bong-joo's Korean thriller has Son Hyun-joo as Dong-ho and Uhm Ji-won as his wife. The time premise is set up and passed over rather than explained; the tension comes from two people at either end of a phone line running at the same moment.
