The Price of Milk

Lucinda and Rob are a happy couple living on a dairy farm in New Zealand. A hundred and seventeen cows, a lot of land and a life like a fairy tale. After an accident Lucinda gets an idea into her head: does Rob really love her. To measure it she starts trying to make him angry. Then the quilt disappears from their bed, and the price of getting it back turns out to be high. Harry Sinclair's film makes no attempt at realism; it runs on fairy-tale logic, in a world that sets its own rules. Red earth, green fields and a great many cows give the picture the look of a painting. Danielle Cormack and Karl Urban take the leads, Urban not yet internationally known. It is one of the strangest and sweetest romantic comedies to come out of New Zealand.
